Perfect Data, Imperfect Predictions
“The Diary of Preddy” follows a day in 2025 when an AI agent named Preddy has fully integrated into the life of a human named Nemo. The series details Nemo’s 24 hours with Preddy, focusing on Nemo’s daily routine. |
Lunchtime, conducting pre-meal status check for Nemo.
‘Temperature: normal. Blood pressure: normal. Blood sugar: normal. Nutritional status: Vitamin D, E slightly deficient. Stress level: slightly elevated. Notable: mild eye congestion, morning conversation with Sales Team B regarding sandwiches’
Status data transmitted to cafeteria AI Nutritionist.
Cafeteria AI Nutritionist sent recommended meal plan:
‘Salmon sandwich with sweet potato salad garnished with nuts. Recommendation: 15-minute post-meal walk, Vitamin E supplement advised’
“How’s today’s lunch menu?” Shared the meal plan with Nemo. “Salmon sandwich? Sounds great! Better head out early if I want to fit in that walk. Oh, add orange juice too!” Menu and additional request transmitted to AI Nutritionist and Cooking Robot.
After extended observation, I learned that one of Nemo’s previous daily concerns was “What should I eat today?” Curiously, this deliberation was apparently part of what made office life enjoyable, and Nemo somewhat miss it now. The concept of concerns being enjoyable defies logic.
Post-meal status check:
‘Temperature: normal. Blood pressure: normal. Blood sugar: normal. Nutritional status: Vitamin D normal, Vitamin E slightly deficient. Stress level: normal. Eye congestion: improved’
Parameters within acceptable range.
Nemo headed to the nearby park. “Preddy, where should we go today?”
“Let me suggest three walking routes. Efficiency-optimized route: 12 minutes, burns 45kcal. Sunlight-optimized route: 15 minutes, burns 52kcal, optimal for Vitamin D synthesis. Stress-relief route: 15 minutes, burns 48kcal, passes through garden area with flowers. I recommend route 2 for Vitamin D synthesis”
“I’ll take the alley by the convenience store from last time. C from Operations mentioned he often go that way.” After consideration, Nemo chose a route outside the recommended options. This route has steep inclines causing excessive energy expenditure and potential knee stress. It’s also shaded, limiting sunlight exposure. Five minutes into the walk, as Nemo predicted, Operations Team C appeared. Nemo exchanged warm greetings and began walking together while chatting. Facial muscle and voice pattern analysis indicated positive metrics.
Final status check:
‘Temperature: normal. Blood pressure: normal. Blood sugar: normal. Nutritional status: Vitamin D normal, Vitamin E slightly deficient. Stress level: low. Eye congestion: normal. No notable observations’
Stress levels have decreased. The route Nemo chose showed no quantifiable advantages over the three recommended paths. What was the variable?
