The silent pest assassin is coming

Humans VS Pests : The age-old war

‘GREENON’ is a startup that utilizes ultrasonic waves to silently eradicate pests.

ㆍAlso, You can use ‘GREENON’s IoT services to clean the air after pests are eliminated.

ㆍKeep your home beds, granaries, and farms safe in the war against pests.

Kill pests with ultrasound

It is no longer necessary to use your hands or weapons to get rid of pests. A machine called SPIZER has been developed by GREENON in South Korea that emits ultrasonic waves to perform this task. The SPIZER device utilizes ultrasonic vaporization technology that vaporizes insecticides into ultra-fine particles at normal room temperature. The insecticide becomes ultra-fine particles (0.1~0.3μm/micrometer) that are lighter than air, floating through the space and penetrating areas such as the ceiling, inside cabinets, and interior walls, which are inaccessible to human hands, effectively catching pests. Spizer can detect pests and viruses in advance, and automatically sprays insecticides to prevent diseases. According to GREENON, “The ultrasonic vaporization disinfector can eliminate cockroaches, dust mites, ticks, bedbugs, and grain pests that were previously considered difficult to eradicate.”

GREENON initially specialized in airplane-related services, but has since expanded to provide pest control and sanitization services for a wider range of areas. During the COVID-19 pandemic, GREENON disinfected airplanes for major airlines such as Korean Airlines, Delta, Air France, and Lufthansa. Following their success, the company was selected as the official disinfectant for the G20 Seoul Summit and the Seoul Nuclear Security Summit. In 2023, GREENON launched a new service to make its sterilizers available for households and industrial plants. These machines are now installed in pharmaceutical factories, grain warehouses, museums, livestock processing facilities, food warehouses, feeding centers, food factories, and any other location where pests are present and clean air is required.

Clean air while killing pests

Are you worried about harmful substances being released when using SPIZER insecticide spray? Worry no more! GREENON’s smart pest sterilizer for space actively uses IoT functions to ensure your safety. The accompanying app displays the percentage of insecticide in the air and once it has decreased to a harmless level for humans, it is safe to enter the space. You can access the visualized data on your device from any location and at any time. The device uses IoT sensors to gather a ‘bioaerosol index’ which predicts the presence of harmful substances such as particulate matter, carbon dioxide, and volatile organic compounds in the air, along with suspended microorganisms and a food poisoning index. The application collects hygiene data daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly. You can easily monitor the air quality status using SPIZER’s indicator light and detect invisible germs through the app.

The SPIZER has a unique feature that allows for sanitization. It creates sterilizing bubbles by electrolyzing salt water using an electrode module. Similar to water vapor from a humidifier, there is no need for cleanup as there are no residues left behind. To use this feature, simply seal your home for an hour or two and ensure that it is well ventilated. This one solution takes care of pest control and sanitization at the same time. GREENON is continually developing air purification solutions and infection prevention measures.

The winner of the ‘silent war’ is humanity

Could humans ever completely eliminate pests from the planet? To address this problem, GREENON created SPIZER. Due to extreme weather, there has been a rapid increase in disease-spreading microorganisms and pests. Insects are particularly affected by the rising temperatures, which increase their growth rates and cause their populations to skyrocket. This year, there has been a bedbug epidemic worldwide, and South Korea has experienced a sudden outbreak of several other insects, including love bugs, American armyworms, and flower cicadas. These insects have infested agricultural fields, forests, and residential areas, causing significant damage. GREENON has initiated a project to eradicate pests in Korea to tackle this problem.

According to GREENON’s solution, there could be a ‘silent war’ between machines and pests that is fought while we sleep, as long as smart pest sterilizers are running. However, history has shown that as we develop pesticides, pests can develop resistance and become stronger. If a pest becomes more powerful than humans, we may need to resort to handheld SPIZER, sterilization patches or embedded pest-killing chips that we can wear on our bodies. This would mean that when we travel to areas with high risk of insect-borne diseases like Southeast Asia or Africa, we would not have to take any shots or medications to protect ourselves. SPIZER, the silent assassin, could potentially create a protective shield that will keep us safe from pests wherever we go and wherever they attack.

In the end, we would win.
